We hope everyone is a having a great summer - full of fun, cookouts, and family time. As we move ahead to the fall season, we wanted to take this opportunity to highlight some of the recent PRAA activities and upcoming events for our Owls community.
We are excited to officially announce the Inaugural PRAA Golf Outing, to be played October 2, 2024 at Patriot Hills Golf Course. It will be a great day for some Fall golf, dinner, raffles, and activities.
We have also made some recent changes to the Coaching Certification process to contemporize and centralize the way information is submitted and stored, streamline the process for prospective coaches, and ultimately enhance the safety of our Owl participants. Please be sure you are in compliance with these new guidelines as more information can be found below.
We hope you enjoy this newsletter. Thank you for your commitment to the PRAA Program.
Go Owls!
Effective, June 25, 2024, all PRAA Coaches, both new and returning are required to register for a new background screen and register for coaching memberships through SportsEngine. At the time of the new background screen, new coaches will be asked for completion documentation for the Rutgers Safety Course, and both Concussion and Abuse Training Videos. Returning coaches will have to attest previous completion of these requirements. This process should take between 5-7 minutes to complete and will cover you across sports/seasons. Coaching membership will be valid for 2 years and at that point will require renewal with a similar process. We appreciate your commitment to the safety of our Owl athletes.
On Sunday, June 2nd, Football Commissioner Anthony Caprio and his team hosted a Football Open House for Park Ridge and Emerson families to ask questions about the football program and get sized for their new jerseys for the upcoming season. Park Ridge High School Football Coach James Cleary was on hand to greet the PRE Owl players and families.
The PRE Football program recently participated in skill and speed development held in partnership with TNT training. This program provided instruction on running mechanics, agility training and activities specific to football to help prepare our athletes for the upcoming season. We appreciate all that participated in this program.
Commissioner James Dickins is proud to reveal a new logo for PRAA Soccer. Be on the look out for our new logo on our fall uniforms and in the Spirit Shop!
Our 2024 softball spring and summer seasons finished strong with winning records and multiple playoff victories, including a runner-up finish in our own Spring Pee-Wee Tournament. All the girls hard work and dedication will continue to pay off for the 2025 season. We plan to build off this past year’s success by focusing on development with different clinics throughout fall and winter and already are looking forward to next season.
